the good the bad and the ugly

another busy week.......photographing an attempt at a world record one day and the CLA Gamefair the next......not forgetting the South West "Scrufts" qualifier which was a great day out for lots of family dogs.
the bad news was that Stanley didnt achieve his world record....but fingers crossed he has the chance at another try in September and we are with you all the way Stanley.
and the ugly??....well that was the complete IDIOT we saw with a weimeraner .....loose in the back of an open pick up....going up the motorway.....i truly despair sometimes!!

dont be too proud!!

Why are some people too proud to put their dog on a lead?? Its neither big or clever to walk your dog alongside a road off a lead and neither does it mean you hve in some way failed its training by putting a lead on it.
Last week i saw someone doing just this....when a pheasant burst out of the verge, across the road and the collie followed it....straight under the wheels of a car. This dog died because its owner was ignorant......she stood there sobbing and saying he had never done it before...well too little too late I say!!! Please put your dog on a lead on the road.

whats your game?

Being awarded UK Sports Photographer of the Year 2007 has led to some really great assignments and comissions this year......but none so varied as this weeks photoshoots which has seen a 70 year old man swimming the English Channel, a disabled football team and a pole dancing event (yes its really true guys!) all within a few hours of each other! I shall be glad to be covering the next few dog shows just for the quiet life!!!

I had a comission today on a wreck fishing trip out of Plymouth......imagine my surprise 3 miles out of Plymouth, to see a flock of barnacle geese bobbing about at sea!!! I have never heard of such a thing before!
We had a great team working for us at the sw game fair this year and their pictures were just what our editors ordered!.
We have a small team of great photographers, all of them are pros....none of them are "keen amateurs" or "wanabee photographers" and I am proud to have them as part of the Farlap team. Thanks guys!

so much to do

This time of year really is frantic what with the major horse shows underway and the championship dog shows in mid flow....then there are all those summer agricultural shows and game fairs and we seem to be booked for so many this year!
For those who are not aware of it, our old website no longer links to the current one.....obviously someones idea of sabotage but then some people get kicks from the most pathetic things!
Please if you see the old link anywhere....update it to the new one which as you probably know is, if you can thankyou.
And finally, dont forget that soft ware is marvellous stuff and if you come to my site 16 times in one day it does get noticed...surely you dont need to look quite so often just to copy all my ideas??
