A few days of marketing stock images and catching up with library submissions. I had one of my strangest sales as well this week....this dairy cow image, to a restuarant chain in Estonia for their internal wall displays......maybe its a beef restaurant and they cant tell the difference? Who knows!! Another cover as well this week, this time with countrymans weekly, plus my first TV appearance, in Germany....yes thats right, Germany. A German tv station bought a photo from me of a stafford bull terrier for a news feature. Finally I sold a shooting image of a game shooter and his labrador, to a French publishing company for an educational text book.....again I have no idea quite why it fitted the bief, but it did and Im not complaining!

A frantic few days trying to get all the printing up to date. Having had 2 weeks off, its all got a little behind.
My biggest project this week is getting all the prints made up and mounted for the WW Shoot dinner next week. Hopefully all the guns will love their photos, and after the dinner Ill put the seasons images up on the website so the team can see the others should they wish.
Unbelievably, we are already taking bookings for the 2012/13 shooting season, most of which are repeats of shoots we attended this last season, so its great to know everyone is enjoying having Farlap out on their shoot. If you would like to book YOUR shoot in for next season please let me know as soon as possible as Saturdays are already going fast, although many week day shoots are still available.

Being office bound for a week or so has allowed me to catch up with all the photo requests that seem to arrive in the mail on a daily basis. This weeks biggest job has been sorting out photos for a new UK based client who specialise in calendars of working dogs and country pursuits, and these three girls (well OK ones a boy but it doesnt have the same "ring" to it) are now vying for the position of "cover girl". I know which one I like best, but I will need to wait and see what the picture editor decides. And tomorrows job? Well that will be spent making the final cut of images, for a magazine article on a breed rather close to my heart. More on that later!

Im catching up with a huge backlog this week, so if you are wondering where your proofs are, I promise they are coming soon! Likewise the 2011/2012 season for the Whiteleigh Woodcock Shoot, will be going live after the dinner, so Im afraid you need a touch more patience chaps!
Two more NEW shows came in this week, looks like its going to be a busy funfilled summer.

Its been another busy few days. Nice to get another photo feature in farmers Guardian this week, and several more due to be published very soon.
How sad to hearthat some "photographers" feel they are so righteous that they actually believe theyve been hard done by.......especially when they have behaved so attrociously and unprofessionally in the last few years themselves....its true that some people really dont see their own faults as they are so busy trying to discredit others and generally be unpleasant to those they perceive as a threat to their goals. Nevermind....from what I hear it sounds like "what goes around" is definitiely "coming around!!" Im glad Im slowly managing to get out of that particulart circle of work!!
Im currently involved with talks and negotiations that mean a very exciting trip to Europe soon, to meet someone quite exceptional for an article in the British Fieldsports press. Never have I been so excited, at the prospect of this journey and meeting. More on this soon!

The weather has been bitter but great for the jobs I had planned for the week. A wildfowling trip meant wrapping up in 5 layers for a 5am start, sat on a marsh that was so cold that even the salt water had iced over! Never the less it was a good trip and the images which are being used in a specialist breed article, were just what we wanted.
Now for our recently hinted at news!!
We are VERY pleased to announce that we are now represented by http://www.animal-photography.com/
The fact that we are now part of my photography hero, Sally Anne Thompsons library, is something of a circular success story, as it was her book that was given to me for my 21st birthday by my parents, that really persuaded me to leave the press work side of the industry and specialise in dogs and other domestic animals.
