The last week of April/first week of May is MANIC in the Farlap office as its the cut off week for the 2014 calendars, and this year has seen an unprecedented amount of FARLAP images being chosen.
I will be bringing the free prints for dog show clients who have had their dogs photographed for breed calendars, to the next few open shows, so please come and see me if you havent received yours yet.
Despite the game shooting season only ending a few weeks ago, we are ALREADY getting bookings for our shoot-days next season, and also planning an editorial trip to Hungary, to cover pheasant shooting, so lots coming up, but we have the whole summer to get through yet, and that has seen a couple of new shows and events come along which will be interesting for us. I know we have had to let down some shows this summer, such as Liskeard CS and Werringten for example, but we DO get our events booked up very early and can only apologise if we are already booked on the date you are holding your event.
I think my goaty photos must be gathering fame......usually when the phone rings I get some one ask Is that "the dog photographer", however weve had 3 new clients call this week asking if "its the goat photographer"!!! Im not complaining, as goats really are a great subject to work with, and Im looking forward to working with some very fine goat breeders in a few weeks time.

Im hoping I can forgive myself for putting up a photo of a horses eye.....I absolutely loathe it when I see it anywhere else, its so cliched and over used......but in this case it was more about the forelock than the eye, so Im giving myself a break on this ocassion!
There were a couple of editorial jobs "down on the farm" , plus a Bloodhound kennel and then a Bernese Mountain Dog Kennel .....oh and not forgetting the goats! This weekend sees a Gundog Show and an EGB ride, so lots happening ,and next week is action packed too.

Theres been a lot going on at Farlap over the last few weeks, although firstly we should apologise to the three shows that we have had to let down, but due to sad circumstances we have been needed elsewhere for a few days, and not been able to fulfill some work commitments. I know from the phone calls that people have been disapointed, and I apologise, and look forward to seeing you all at the next show.
So what HAVE we been up to? A number of agricultural commissions have meant that the wellies have been in use as we trudged about the lambing pens for a sheep health feature, out in the fields with suckler herds for grassland management articles, and not forgetting the goats and pigs on a newcomers feature. For those who went to Gables show, we were pleased to be able to get a photographer there and the images are now available online for viewing. Your password is on the voucher you received and you now have the choice of receiving your Free Prize as either a print OR AS A DIGITAL FILE. The digital file is perfect for FACEBOOK or emailing to friends and family and as this is one of our most requested services we hope you fins it a useful option.
